Data usage will be counted in Megabytes (MB) and includes both uploads and downloads. If you exceed your Off Peak data allowance, all usage will be counted towards the Peak data allowance.
Naked ADSL2+ - No Home Phone
Optus Naked ADSL2+ is available in Metropolitan locations in NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC, SA and many regional locations in those states although some specific locations might not be serviceable. Call Optus or check your availability as you sign up. If you select an Optus Naked ADSL2+ you will not be able to connect or maintain a home phone service with Optus or another provider. A $149 setup and $19.95 modem delivery fee applies for bundled Naked Broadband plans or a $249 setup and $19.95 modem delivery fee applies for standalone Naked Broadband plans.
Getting Started
Self Installation Kit
Optus ADSL2+ Broadband is self installed. Your self installation kit contains an in-line filter; instructions and a CD Rom. BYO Modem You can BYO a compatible modem to Optus ADSL2+ Broadband. However, a standard modem is included when you sign up for 24 months.
Wired & Wireless Modems
Unless you are using a wireless modem or wired router with additional cabling to your computer, it is most likely that you will need to have your computer positioned near the phone socket in your house. If you wish to network multiple computers in your home to the Internet, you will require either a Home WiFi modem/router or a wired 4 port modem/router. If you are using two or more computers in the house, your download allowance will be shared amongst all the computers in the house i.e. there is not a download allowance allocated to each computer.

Flat Monthly Fee - Shaped Plans
All Optus plans are 'shaped' or 'throttled' where the speed of your internet connection is slowed to 128kbps when you exceed your monthly allowance. You will not be charged excess fees for going over your allowance. You can always upgrade to a higher allowance with Optus. A $50 plan downgrade fee applies if you change to a broadband plan with a lower minimum monthly access fee at any time during your agreement period. Early cancellation fees apply.
